Support for the ex-post evaluation of the European Nuclear Decommissioning Assistance Programme – Energy Window 2007-2013
During their accession to the European Union, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Slovakia shut down eight nuclear power plants. As compensation, the European Union has on the one hand provided subsidies for decommissioning (so-called ‘decommissioning window’) and on the other hand financed a number of measures in the field of energy efficiency, replacement capacities and ecological improvement and modernisation of plants (so-called ‘energy window’).
The study prepares an independent ex-post evaluation of the energy projects financed under the Nuclear Decommissioning Assistance Programme (NDAP) in Bulgaria, Lithuania and Slovakia in the period 2007-2013. LBST carried out the evaluation for Lithuania.
