Hydrogen study in Nordrhein-Westfalen

The aim of the study was to investigate the factors that require the use of the economic and climate-relevant potential of hydrogen in Nordrhein-Westfalen and in Germany. For this purpose, based on an energy system analysis, the importance of the energy carrier hydrogen in the electricity, heat, transport, and industry sectors of a future energy system was examined in more detail, taking grid restrictions into account.

Intelligent sector coupling

Amprion and OGE have jointly commissioned LBST to analyze the economic and climate-relevant effects of a broad introduction of Power-to-Gas (PtG) compared to an “all-electric” world for Germany up to 2050 in sector-specific detail. The electricity sector with its inherent flexibility options was completely modeled, except for the electricity distribution network.
