As part of the EU strategy and subcontracted by Trinomics, LBST has contributed to a study on the further development of measures to integrate the energy system (sector coupling) for the European Union.

Against the backdrop of the recent political landscape, the REPowerEU and the energy crisis, suitable cost-effective measures for system integration are identified that can support the European Green Deal and the decarbonisation of Europe.

The focus for LBST is on all hydrogen-related aspects. It identifies barriers to the integration of the energy system based on hydrogen and then develops recommendations for action to overcome the existing challenges for the European Commission and the Member States.
