Development of a roadmap for Regulations, Codes and Standards (RCS) in the field of hydrogen

Client: BMVI
Region: Germany, Global
Project Completion: December 2016

The aim for developing a Hydrogen RCS Roadmap was to work out the current status, existing gaps and suggestions for improvement, regulations/laws, standards and industry guidelines in the field of hydrogen from a German point of view.

For this purpose, ongoing and international standardization and regulatory activities (such as ISO, IEC, CEN, CENELEC and UN ECE in conjunction with WP29) were taken into account. The focus was on hydrogen and fuel cell applications in road traffic, in stationary plants and with railway traffic as well as at airports. The project was carried out in cooperation with The CCS Gobal Group Inc. (CCS), TÜV Süd Industrial Services GmbH and the Center for Fuel Cell Technology ZBT GmbH.
