Together with its partners, Ludwig-Bölkow-Systemtechnik GmbH has developed a technical analysis for the European Commission, which serves as the basis for the development and implementation of the amendment to the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II).

In a consortium led by Trinomics, Ludwig-Bölkow-Systemtechnik GmbH, together with Artelys and E3-Modelling Energy-Economy-Environment, carried out a technical study on the development and implementation of the EU Commission’s renewable energy policy as part of the amendment to the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II Amendment).

The underlying objective of this study is to assist the European Commission in reviewing the current approach to promoting the use of renewable energy in line with the Renewable Energy Directive.

The consortium supports DG Energy in identifying and assessing different regulatory options to promote the use of renewable energy so that they are in line with climate targets and the respective EU strategies.

LBST’s core task areas in this work are renewable energies and other low-carbon fuels in the transport sector, as well as the increased use of electricity from renewable energies. The results of the analysis contribute to the impact assessment presented by DG Energy.
